Web design in Ireland, and where RAIN fits
The Irish web design market splits roughly three ways. There are freelancers and small studios competing on price, many of them building on WordPress templates. There are Dublin agencies serving larger brands, often with long waiting lists. And there is a growing number of companies selling across the EU and the UK that need something more engineered than a theme.
RAIN Design Studio serves that third group. We are a senior design and development studio in Casablanca, Morocco, working remotely with Irish businesses. We are deliberately not the “affordable” tier: projects start at $10,000, and in return you get one senior designer per project, a developer team that builds what was designed, and a site engineered for search, AI answer engines and accessibility from the first commit.
If you need a five-page brochure site at the lowest price, a local freelancer will serve you better, and we will say so on the first call.
Same working day as Dublin
Ireland runs on GMT in winter and Irish Standard Time (GMT+1) in summer. Morocco runs on GMT+1 for most of the year, moving to GMT for about a month around Ramadan. In practice:
- In summer, Casablanca and Dublin are on the same clock.
- In winter, we are one hour ahead, so your 9:30 call is our 10:30.
- Feedback you send at 4 pm is read the same afternoon, not the next morning.
The working language is English, with French and Arabic available for multilingual sites.
E-commerce and B2B web design for Irish businesses
Selling online from Ireland
E-commerce is where most Irish enquiries start, whether from Dublin, Cork or Galway. Selling online from Ireland comes with requirements a template does not handle on its own:
- Pricing display: consumer prices shown in euro including VAT, with Ireland’s 23% standard rate and reduced rates handled correctly in the catalogue.
- Selling into Great Britain: since Brexit, shipping to the UK involves customs and duty questions that belong in the checkout and shipping messaging, not in a support inbox.
- Accessibility: the European Accessibility Act has applied to many e-commerce services since 28 June 2025. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA as standard: keyboard navigation, visible focus, correct contrast, labelled forms.
- Speed on mobile: product and category pages are where Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) matter most, and where heavy themes and app stacks hurt.
B2B and professional services sites
Not every Irish enquiry is a shop. Dublin is home to the European headquarters of many international technology companies, and a large professional-services and B2B sector sells to them and to the rest of Europe. Those sites have a different job: explain a complex offer clearly, rank for specialist searches, and be the source an AI answer engine quotes when a buyer asks a question. That means service and industry pages built from structured content, FAQ and organisation schema, fast pages on any device, and a contact path that does not hide behind a generic form. It is the same work we did for a London consultancy, described below.
Owned e-commerce
For shops that have outgrown hosted platforms, we have built our own. RAIN Store is an owned e-commerce platform on Vue 3 and Laravel 13 with 58 modules across products, orders, fulfilment, returns, B2B quotes, subscriptions and coupons, and no third-party app fees. For shops happy on their current platform, we design and build around it instead.
Why we build Irish marketing sites on Astro
For marketing, content and lead-generation sites, our default is Astro. It outputs plain HTML, ships little or no JavaScript by default, and needs no plugin updates to stay secure. Our Astro web development page covers it in detail; our guide what is Astro explains it without the jargon.
Every RAIN site ships with:
- Semantic HTML and JSON-LD structured data on every page
- A sitemap, hreflang where a site has more than one language, and canonical URLs
llms.txtand an AI-crawler-friendlyrobots.txt, so answer engines can read and cite the site- A Core Web Vitals focus from design onwards, not as a late audit

Proof from work already live
- Origin Element: the site for a London AI integration consultancy, built in Astro 7 with 42 indexable pages, including 36 SEO and GEO content pages, build-time social cards and a dark, light and auto theme.
- 2RCLOUD: a bilingual English and French Astro site for a Salesforce tech lead, with Person and FAQPage JSON-LD, hreflang alternates in the sitemap and zero runtime JavaScript.
- RAIN Store: our owned e-commerce platform, described above.
Logistics: GDPR, contracts and payment
- Data protection: you remain the controller under the EU GDPR, supervised in Ireland by the Data Protection Commission. Morocco has no EU adequacy decision, so where personal data is transferred to us, we sign the EU standard contractual clauses. On our side, Moroccan Law 09-08 applies, overseen by the CNDP. Most web projects never need production customer data at all. This is general information, not legal advice.
- Ownership: you own the site, the code and the content. Repositories and hosting can sit in your accounts from day one.
- Payment: prices are set in USD; we invoice in EUR on request.
- Communication: one Slack channel, a Loom update every Friday, and a free 15-minute call to start.
How a project runs
- Free 15-minute call to understand your shop or business and what the site must do.
- Written scope and fixed price, with milestones.
- Design in Figma, reviewed with you on shared calls in Irish working hours.
- Build and content migration, with weekly preview links.
- Launch, redirects from your old URLs, and a handover of everything you own.
A marketing site typically takes 3–6 weeks; a custom e-commerce platform 8–16 weeks. Kick-off happens within 3–5 business days of signature. Teams with continuous work can use the Growth retainer at $7,500 per month.

Frequently asked questions
No. RAIN is based in Casablanca and works with Irish businesses remotely. Morocco is on GMT+1 for most of the year, so we are on Irish time or one hour ahead, and calls happen during your normal working day. On-site workshops in Ireland can be arranged when a project justifies them.
Fixed-scope projects start at $10,000, and a marketing site typically takes 3 to 6 weeks. Larger e-commerce or custom platforms take 8 to 16 weeks. We are deliberately not a budget option; if you need a small brochure site at the lowest possible price, a local freelancer is likely a better fit.
Our prices are set in US dollars. On request we invoice in EUR, with the exchange basis agreed in the contract before work starts.
Our default for marketing and content sites is Astro, which outputs static HTML and tends to score well on Core Web Vitals with little maintenance. For e-commerce we either integrate with the platform you already run or build on an owned Laravel and Vue stack, as we did for RAIN Store. We will tell you honestly if a hosted platform suits your shop better.
You remain the controller under the EU GDPR, supervised in Ireland by the Data Protection Commission. Morocco has no EU adequacy decision, so where personal data is transferred to us we sign the EU standard contractual clauses. In most web projects we work in your hosting and never need production customer data. This is general information, not legal advice.
Since 28 June 2025 the European Accessibility Act has applied to many e-commerce services across the EU, including Ireland, with an exemption for micro-enterprises providing services. We design and build to WCAG 2.2 AA as standard, which is the practical baseline most businesses use to meet those requirements. Your legal adviser should confirm how the Act applies to you.
