Custom Software Development Company for US Businesses, Based in Casablanca

In short

A custom software development company should show you software it has shipped, not just a process diagram. RAIN Design Studio is a senior design and development studio in Casablanca, Morocco, working remotely with US companies. We have designed and built four platforms of our own, including a 154-screen ERP, and custom projects start at $10,000.

What a custom software development company should deliver

A custom software development company is worth hiring when off-the-shelf tools force your team into workarounds: spreadsheets glued to a SaaS product, a CRM bent into an operations tool, or a back office nobody wants to touch. The right partner designs software around how your business works, builds it to last, and stays accountable for it after launch.

RAIN Design Studio is a senior studio in Casablanca, Morocco, working remotely with US companies. We are small on purpose: a senior team working with AI specialists, one lead per project, and a human sign-off on every merge and every design. Our founder, MrZaKaRiA, spent 11 years inside agencies before starting RAIN, and the studio has shipped work since 2014.

Before you sign with anyone, expect the following from a serious partner:

  • A written scope with a fixed price or a clearly capped retainer, not an open-ended hourly estimate.
  • Named seniors who will do the work, rather than a sales team that hands you over after signature.
  • Working software early, on a staging environment you can click through, within the first two weeks.
  • Your accounts from day one: repositories, cloud hosting and third-party services registered to your company.
  • An honest no when an existing product would serve you better than a custom build.

What makes us different from most firms on a US shortlist is that we build and run our own products. When we talk about multi-tenant billing, role-based permissions or offline-capable apps, we are describing systems we maintain, not slides.

Custom software development services we offer

Our custom software development services cover product design and engineering in one team:

  • Business platforms: ERP, CRM, billing, inventory and operations tools with roles, documents and audit logs. See custom ERP development.
  • SaaS products: subscription billing, client portals, admin dashboards and public APIs. See SaaS development.
  • Internal tools and dashboards that replace spreadsheet workflows.
  • Desktop and mobile apps from one codebase, with Tauri for desktop and Capacitor for iOS and Android.
  • Product design: UX research, flows and UI in Figma, built by the same team that designs it.

Our stack in 2026–2027 is TypeScript, Vue 3, React, Laravel and PHP, Tailwind CSS, Astro, MySQL and PostgreSQL. We choose boring, well-supported technology on purpose, so the software you own can be maintained by any competent team after us.

Proof: four platforms we designed and built

Platform What it is Stack Verified facts
RIVER ERP Self-hosted ERP and business OS Laravel 13, Vue 3, Tailwind v4, Tauri, Capacitor 23 modules, 12 suites, 154 screens, 16 business document types, 18 AI provider adapters
Enterprise CRM B2B pipeline and account intelligence React 18, GraphQL, NestJS 11, PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse 12 data dimensions per account record, ICP scoring, workflow automation
ERPStore Subscription store, billing and CRM Vue 2.7, PHP, MySQL 126 routes, 76 API endpoints, 10 payment methods, 32 UI languages
RAIN Store Owned e-commerce operating system Vue 3, Laravel 13, MySQL, Redis 58 modules across 7 suites, no third-party app fees

Two details matter more than the counts. ERPStore’s upgrade path was validated against a real production database of 1,023 users, 354 orders and 483 payments, without data loss. And RIVER ERP ships from one codebase as a web app, a PWA, iOS and Android wrappers and a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux. That is the kind of engineering a custom build needs to survive its second year.

How we compare with other custom software development firms

US buyers usually compare four kinds of custom software development firms. Each has a place.

Criterion US agency Latin American nearshore Large offshore vendor Freelance custom software developer RAIN (Casablanca)
Overlap with US Eastern Time Full Full or near-full Little; often overnight handoffs Varies Around 4 hours in your morning
Team shape Account, PM, design, engineering Usually engineers by the seat Large teams, mixed seniority One person Small senior team, one lead
Design and engineering together Often Sometimes Rarely Rarely Always
Products of their own in production Rarely Rarely Rarely Rarely Four in-house platforms
Pricing published upfront Rarely Rarely Rarely Hourly rate Yes: retainers and a $10,000 project minimum

If you need all-day overlap with California or a team of twenty, a Latin American or US partner will suit you better. If you want a senior squad that designs, builds and owns a platform, with a morning overlap and a written update every day, we are a strong fit. Our page on nearshore development for US teams goes deeper on time zones.

Time zones and communication with US teams

Morocco runs on GMT+1 for most of the year, moving to GMT for about a month around Ramadan. That puts Casablanca:

  • 5–6 hours ahead of New York: our afternoon is your morning, giving East Coast teams a shared window of around four hours.
  • 8–9 hours ahead of Los Angeles: a short early-morning overlap, so West Coast projects run async-first.

What stays the same everywhere: one shared Slack channel, a working increment and a Loom walkthrough every Friday, and pull requests you can review the moment your day starts. Work done in our day is waiting for you when yours begins.

Contracts, IP, security and compliance

  • IP and code ownership: the contract assigns intellectual property in the work to your company. Repositories, cloud accounts and credentials can be yours from day one.
  • NDAs and governing law: we sign your NDA and can work under your master services agreement.
  • Privacy: the US has no single federal privacy law; state laws such as California’s CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, may apply to your product. We build consent, data export and deletion flows when your counsel requires them, and Moroccan Law 09-08 governs our own handling of data. This is general information, not legal advice.
  • Security: we do not hold a SOC 2 report. For regulated work we operate inside your environment, under your controls.
  • Trade: the United States–Morocco Free Trade Agreement has been in force since 2006, and paying for services across the two countries is routine.

Pricing and engagement models

  • Fixed-scope projects from $10,000, priced against a written scope. Custom platforms typically take 8–16 weeks.
  • Growth, $7,500 per month: 45 hours, two active projects, twice-weekly syncs, 24-hour response.
  • Scale, $15,000 per month: 100 hours, unlimited active projects, daily syncs, same-day response.

Kick-off happens within 3–5 business days of signature.

Frequently asked questions

No. RAIN is a single studio based in Casablanca, Morocco, and works with US companies remotely. We do not have US staff, a US address or a US phone number. On-site workshops in the US can be arranged by agreement for larger engagements.

Fixed-scope custom projects start at $10,000, and a custom platform such as an ERP, CRM or SaaS product typically takes 8 to 16 weeks. For continuous work we offer the Growth retainer at $7,500 per month for 45 hours and the Scale retainer at $15,000 per month for 100 hours. All prices are in US dollars.

Casablanca is five to six hours ahead of the East Coast and eight to nine hours ahead of the West Coast, depending on daylight saving. East Coast teams get a shared window of around four hours in their morning. West Coast teams get a short early-morning overlap, so we run those projects async-first with a written daily update and a weekly call.

Yes. We sign your NDA before detailed discussions, and the contract assigns intellectual property in the work to your company. We can work entirely inside your GitHub organization and cloud accounts, so you hold the code and credentials from the first day.

No, RAIN does not hold a SOC 2 report. If your procurement requires one, we work inside your SOC 2-scoped environment under your access controls, use least-privilege accounts, and follow your security policies. We will be straightforward about this in procurement rather than surprise you later.

We invoice in US dollars, usually by international wire transfer, on a monthly retainer or milestone schedule. As a foreign vendor we provide the tax documentation your accounts payable team requests, typically a W-8BEN-E rather than a W-9. Your accountant can confirm what applies to your company.
