Web design for Kuwait, built for businesses that want to own their channel

Kuwait is a small, connected market where many brands grew up on social media and delivery apps before they ever had a proper website. Cafés, restaurants, fashion and beauty brands, home and furniture retailers, real estate firms and family-owned trading groups now want something more durable: a site that ranks, explains, takes orders or bookings, and belongs to them.

RAIN Design Studio is a senior design and development studio in Casablanca, Morocco, working remotely with Kuwaiti businesses. We do web design and development, and we build the custom software that often has to sit behind a website. We have no office in Kuwait and do not claim one. We work two hours behind Kuwait City, with one senior lead per project and working software every Friday.

Why a well-built website matters in Kuwait

Searches like “web design kuwait” are modest in volume and the competition is thinner than in Dubai, so a well-structured, fast site with clear content can stand out. What we focus on:

  • Speed: static Astro pages with Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) in mind, so the site feels instant on mobile.
  • Structure: JSON-LD structured data for your organization, services, products and FAQs, a clean sitemap and hreflang for bilingual sites.
  • AI visibility: llms.txt and an AI-crawler-friendly robots.txt, so answer engines can read and cite your pages. See generative engine optimization.
  • Conversion: clear calls to action into WhatsApp, booking, enquiry or checkout, designed in Figma before a line of code is written.

We cannot promise rankings. We can build a site that gives search and AI engines every reason to trust it.

Your own site vs renting someone else’s platform

Most Kuwaiti brands we speak with are weighing these options:

Criterion Social profile only Marketplaces and delivery apps Template website builder Custom website (and store) by RAIN
Who owns the customer data The platform The platform Mostly you You
Visibility in Google and AI answers Limited Inside the app only Basic Built in: structured data, sitemap, llms.txt
Fees on each sale None for posts; ads extra Commission per order, typically Subscription and app fees No per-sale platform fee on your own store
Arabic and English Manual posts Set by the platform Depends on theme Designed per project, RTL planned
Design control Low None Theme-limited Full, from Figma to code
Upfront cost Low Low Low From $10,000

The point is not to leave Instagram or delivery apps. It is to add a channel you control, so the business is not dependent on someone else’s rules.

Custom software for Kuwaiti businesses

Many software companies in Kuwait sell packaged systems. When your operation does not fit the package, a custom build on a proven core is often the better route. We build:

  • Point of sale and back office for retail and restaurants: our RIVER ERP includes a retail POS and a restaurant POS with floor plan, kitchen, waiter and cashier roles, sessions, Z-reports, returns, loyalty and gift cards.
  • Stock, purchasing and accounting: multi-warehouse inventory with batch, serial and expiry tracking, purchasing documents, treasury and multi-currency.
  • E-commerce admin: our RAIN Store platform has 58 modules for products, orders, customers, B2B, subscriptions, coupons and affiliates.
  • Portals and internal tools: client portals, booking systems and dashboards in Vue 3 or React on Laravel.

RIVER’s French, English and Arabic interfaces are complete, and it produces Arabic business documents. For a deeper look at the ERP side, see custom ERP development and our custom ERP page for Dubai, which covers Gulf-specific questions such as multi-company and VAT.

Example: a café group’s website and back office

To make this concrete, here is how we would typically approach a Kuwaiti café or restaurant group with several branches that sells through its own outlets, Instagram and delivery apps:

  1. Website first: a fast bilingual Astro site with branch pages, menus as real HTML (not image files), opening hours, location data in structured markup and a clear route to order or book.
  2. Brand consistency: menu and promotion templates designed in Figma so the site, social posts and printed material look like one brand.
  3. Back office next: a restaurant POS with floor plan, kitchen, waiter and cashier roles, sessions and Z-reports, plus stock and purchasing per branch, built on RIVER ERP.
  4. Reporting: one view of sales by branch and channel, so the owners see the same numbers as the accountant.

Each step stands on its own, so you can stop after the website or carry on. Most groups start with the site and decide on the system once they see how we work.

Proof from our work

  • Origin Element: an Astro 7 site for a London AI integration consultancy with 42 indexable pages, 36 of them SEO and GEO content pages, build-time Open Graph images and a generated llms.txt.
  • RIVER ERP: 23 modules across 12 suites, version 27.0.1, delivered as a web app, PWA, Capacitor iOS and Android projects and a Tauri desktop shell.
  • RAIN Store: our in-house e-commerce platform.

These are our own products and a named client project. We have no Kuwaiti clients to name publicly and will not invent any.

Working with us from Casablanca

  • Time zone: Casablanca is GMT+1 most of the year, two hours behind Kuwait, three during the Ramadan period when Morocco moves to GMT.
  • Working week: Kuwait works Sunday to Thursday, Morocco Monday to Friday; we share four full days.
  • Rhythm: one senior lead, one shared Slack or WhatsApp channel, a Loom walkthrough every Friday.
  • Language: English and French daily; Arabic for interfaces and content, designed per project.
  • Data: Kuwait’s communications regulator, CITRA, has issued data-privacy rules; we host where you choose, and your counsel confirms what applies.
  • Contracts and payment: scope, code ownership and confidentiality agreed before kick-off; repositories and accounts in your name; prices in USD.

How a project runs

  1. Free 15-minute call about how you sell today and what the site or system must do.
  2. Written proposal with scope, timeline and a fixed price, or a monthly retainer if the work is ongoing.
  3. Kick-off within 3–5 business days of signature, starting with a short discovery of your audience, content and competitors.
  4. Design in Figma, reviewed with you template by template, including Arabic layouts where needed.
  5. Build and weekly previews, with a Loom walkthrough every Friday.
  6. Launch and handover: domain, hosting, analytics and repositories in your company’s name, plus a short guide for your team.

A marketing site typically takes 3–6 weeks; a custom platform 8–16 weeks.

Frequently asked questions

No. RAIN Design Studio is based in Casablanca, Morocco, and works with Kuwaiti businesses remotely. Casablanca is two hours behind Kuwait for most of the year. On-site workshops in Kuwait City can be arranged for larger projects.

Social profiles and marketplaces are useful channels, but you do not own the customer data, the ranking rules or the fees. A fast website, and where it makes sense your own store, gives you a channel that search engines and AI answer engines can find and that you control. We usually design it to work alongside your social and delivery channels, not to replace them.

Yes. We build custom platforms such as ERP, POS, ordering, CRM and billing systems, typically in 8–16 weeks. Our own RIVER ERP includes retail and restaurant point of sale, stock, purchasing, treasury and accounting, which gives a Kuwaiti project a working base instead of a blank page.

Yes. Arabic and right-to-left layouts are designed per project, with Arabic typography, mirrored layouts and separate URLs for each language. Our studio ships Arabic UI and documents in RIVER ERP; most of our published client websites are in English or French.

Kuwait works Sunday to Thursday and Morocco works Monday to Friday, so we share four full days. Our Friday delivery and Loom walkthrough are ready when your team starts on Sunday.
