AI SEO Agency for UK Businesses: Generative Engine Optimisation

In short

RAIN Design Studio is an AI SEO agency for UK businesses, working remotely from Casablanca, Morocco, that builds generative engine optimisation into the website itself: answer-first pages, JSON-LD entity graphs, llms.txt and a deliberate AI-crawler policy. On Origin Element, a London consultancy, we shipped 36 GEO content pages from one typed content model. We do not promise rankings or AI citations, because nobody outside the AI companies can.

RAIN is a senior design and development studio in Casablanca, Morocco, working remotely with UK companies. We treat AI search as an engineering and content-structure problem, so our work changes how your site is built rather than adding another monthly reporting pack.

What an AI SEO agency should actually do

UK buyers now see AI-generated answers at the top of many Google results, and more people put questions straight to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot. The sources those systems quote are chosen from pages they can crawl, parse and trust. An AI SEO agency should make your site one of those sources where it deserves to be.

In practice that comes down to three things:

  • Being readable by machines: fast, crawlable HTML, structured data that names your organisation, services and people unambiguously, and a clear AI-crawler policy.
  • Being quotable: answer-first paragraphs, specific facts, definitions and FAQs that make sense when lifted out of the page.
  • Being consistent: the same facts about your business on your site, in your structured data and in llms.txt.

This is what the research community calls generative engine optimisation (GEO). Our guide to what generative engine optimisation is explains the term and where it came from.

Generative engine optimisation built into the site

Many “AI SEO” offers in the UK are content packages: more blog posts, often drafted by AI, published in volume. We do the opposite and work on the site itself. On every build, and on existing sites we take on, the checklist is:

  1. Answer-first page structure. Each page opens with a self-contained answer that an AI system can quote verbatim.
  2. JSON-LD entity graph. Organization or ProfessionalService, Service, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and, where relevant, Person, all linked by stable identifiers.
  3. llms.txt and llms-full.txt, generated from the site’s own data so they never drift from the pages.
  4. A deliberate robots.txt policy for search crawlers, AI search crawlers and training crawlers, decided with you.
  5. Core Web Vitals and crawlability: static HTML where possible, clean internal linking, an XML sitemap, and en-GB hreflang where you serve several markets.
  6. Measurement: Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, server logs for AI crawler visits, and referral traffic from AI assistants in your analytics.

The full method is on our generative engine optimisation service page.

The work behind the claims

  • Origin Element, London. An AI integration consultancy whose site we built in Astro 7: 36 GEO content pages (8 services, 8 regions, 8 industries, 12 guides), each with FAQPage schema wired into one Organization graph, plus llms.txt and llms-full.txt generated from that data. Its robots.txt allows PerplexityBot and Google-Extended while disallowing GPTBot and ClaudeBot, a choice the client made, which shows that the policy is a business decision rather than a default.
  • shi. A French-language site for a Casablanca IT integrator with 215 pages, including 155 city pages across nine Moroccan cities, each carrying ITService and FAQPage JSON-LD, with an llms.txt file.
  • Media Progetti. A 68-page site with JSON-LD on 66 of 69 built pages and FAQPage schema on 59. Our delivery statement of 28 May 2026 reported a Semrush site audit of 100% site health and 100% AI search with no errors on 78 crawled pages, an audit score rather than a ranking.
  • 2RCLOUD. A bilingual English and French consultant site with Person and FAQPage JSON-LD, hreflang on every page pair and no runtime JavaScript.

AI SEO agency options compared

Traditional UK SEO agency Content-volume “AI SEO” service In-house marketer RAIN
Main output Audits, links, monthly reports Many AI-drafted articles Whatever time allows Changes to the site: structure, schema, llms.txt, content
Touches the code Rarely, via your developers No Rarely Yes, we build and deploy
Structured data Plugin-level Minimal Plugin-level Hand-built entity graph
Risk of thin, scaled content Low High Low Low; every page reviewed by a person
Promises Often ranking targets Often traffic targets n/a What will be shipped, and how it will be measured
Time zone UK Varies UK Same as UK or 1 h ahead

If you already have a strong developer team and only need strategy, a traditional agency can work. If your site’s structure is the bottleneck, it helps to hire people who can change it.

What we will not promise

  • No ranking or citation guarantees. AI answers vary by query, user and day, and the systems change without notice.
  • No fabricated case results. We report what we shipped and what your own data shows.
  • No scaled thin content. Google’s spam policies target content produced at scale mainly to manipulate rankings, and it rarely earns citations.

Measurement is honest but imperfect. Google reports AI Overview appearances inside ordinary web search totals in Search Console, so we combine Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, server logs and analytics referrals rather than relying on a single dashboard.

How an AI SEO engagement runs

  1. Free 15-minute call to agree which questions, services and markets matter most to you.
  2. Baseline. We read your site the way a crawler does: rendered HTML, structured data, internal links, robots.txt and any llms.txt. We also check how AI assistants currently describe your business for a short list of agreed prompts, recorded as a snapshot rather than a score.
  3. Fix the foundations. Structured data, crawler policy, sitemap, page speed and internal linking, deployed in your repository or CMS.
  4. Rewrite priority pages in an answer-first format, with specific facts your team has confirmed. We do not invent statistics or testimonials to make a page more quotable.
  5. Review monthly on a retainer: what shipped, what changed in Search Console and AI referrals, and what to do next.

Most sites can complete the foundation work in a few weeks; content work continues for as long as it keeps paying back.

Working with UK teams

  • Hours. Casablanca is on GMT+1 most of the year and GMT for about a month around Ramadan: the same time as the UK in summer, one hour ahead in winter.
  • Rhythm. One senior lead, one Slack channel and a Loom walkthrough every Friday.
  • Access. We work in your repository, CMS and Search Console with access you control.
  • Data. Analytics and consent are configured with UK GDPR and PECR in mind; legal wording stays with your advisers.

For London teams, see our page for London businesses. If a rebuild is on the table, see web design and development for UK businesses.

Pricing

  • New RAIN site: the technical GEO layer is included in every build; projects start at $10,000.
  • Existing site: a fixed-scope GEO project from $10,000, covering audit, structured data, llms.txt, crawler policy and the priority page rewrites.
  • Ongoing: Growth retainer at $7,500 per month for 45 hours.

Frequently asked questions

An AI SEO agency works on how a business appears in AI-generated answers, such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, as well as in classic search results. At RAIN that means engineering the site itself: clear, answer-first content, structured data, crawlable fast pages, llms.txt and a considered policy for AI crawlers.

No. Nobody outside those companies controls which sources an AI system cites, and answers change from one query to the next. We implement the practices that make a site easier to read, understand and quote, and we report what we shipped and what we can measure.

It builds on the same foundations: crawlable pages, clear structure, authority and speed. The difference is the target. SEO aims at a ranked list of links; generative engine optimisation aims at being quoted or cited inside a generated answer, which rewards self-contained statements, verifiable facts and unambiguous entities.

No. AI tools help us research and draft, but every page is reviewed and signed off by a person, and we do not publish thin pages in bulk. Google's spam policies target scaled content created mainly to manipulate rankings, and it rarely earns citations anyway.

That is a business decision. Training crawlers and AI search crawlers can be allowed or blocked separately, and Google-Extended controls whether Google's AI models may use your content. We set the policy with you and document it in robots.txt.

On a new RAIN site, the technical GEO layer is included. For an existing site, the work is scoped as a fixed project from $10,000 or run continuously on the Growth retainer at $7,500 per month for 45 hours. Prices are in USD, and we can invoice in GBP on request.

No. RAIN Design Studio is based in Casablanca, Morocco, and works with UK businesses remotely, on UK time or one hour ahead. We have no UK office; workshops can be arranged when a project needs them.
